Thermodynamic properties of Nd–Bi and Nd–Sn alloys were determined via electromotive force (emf) measurements at 725–1075 K. The emf an alloy mole fraction xNd = 0.20 conducted using a solid CaF2–NdF3 electrolyte relative to pure Nd(s). values from the verified in separate experiments molten LiCl–KCl–NdCl3 where Nd(s) was electrodeposited. (xNd 0.20) exhibited two?phase behavior with peritectic reaction (L + NdBi NdBi2) 926 K differential scanning calorimetry. employed as stable reference electrode for 0.15–0.40) 0.10) alloys. these reproducible during thermal cycles over 50 h used calculate thermodynamic properties, including partial molar Gibbs energy, entropy, enthalpy.
